Welcome to the
Westbury & District Link Scheme
Link is for elderly or disabled people living locally who are unable to use public transport and have no one else to call on.
Please use the menu at the top of the page to navigate our site.
Do you have what it takes to be a good neighbour?
We need more volunteers........
to take on regular tasks such as taking people for
doctors’ or hospital appointments, or to help with weekly shopping.
If you don’t drive but are able to use a computer,
we also need volunteers to act as
telephone coordinators -
people who answer clients’ calls and organise help.
Training and ongoing support is given.
All we ask is for some of your time -
as little or as much as you feel you can give.
We pay out of pocket expenses and
a mileage allowance to cover driving costs.
Please contact Link on 01373 859669 and speak
to the coordinator on duty, to discuss how
YOU can be a good neighbour.
Volunteering: it’s good for you...and for our community
“Estimates suggest that 800,000 people in England are chronically lonely. Being lonely is as bad for someone’s health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day and is as big a health risk as obesity.”
