Volunteering for the Link scheme is a great way to give something back to your community by helping out those who are in need. The scheme relies on a team of drivers who use their own cars to help clients without their own means of transport to do everyday tasks, like shopping, that many of us take for granted. Drivers are paid a mileage allowance to cover the costs of fuel and there is a monthly coffee morning for volunteers at which drivers can claim expenses.
If you drive, are you willing to:
Collect Prescriptions
Do some shopping
Change library books
Take clients to health appointments
Take someone shopping
Take people to a social club
Take someone on a social visit
You may also be able to help with:
Other small tasks in and around the home
